Church life and associated organisations

As much as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark (ELCD) is a church of parishes working independently, it is also a church of organisations. It does not have a synod, a church gathering or other central fora in its structure in which the joint work of the parishes can be organised and structured on a national level. Instead, independent organisations of mission, diaconia and Christian formation are widespread. They are associated with the ELCD not by integration in structures but by having the confessional texts of the church as part of their constitutional set-up.
